Designer Thom Browne, who has dressed Michelle Obama for several occasions, claims he is open about collaborating with Melania Trump.
“Look, I respect her as the first lady, and it’s something that I would respect,” he told Fern Mallis during a Q&A at the 92nd Street Y on Wednesday.
Brown dressed Obama for the second inauguration, putting her in a dress and coat.
“The approach for her was making sure she was in something as strong and as interesting and as important as she is,” he explained. “I didn’t care about it being a fashion moment, I cared about it being something that stood up to her . . . She just looked so . . . she looked strong, she looked feminine, she looked so cool.”
