Ivanka Trump appears to have done a stylish U-turn overnight, stepping out in a weather-appropriate long, thick coat and knee-high boots on Friday morning, just 24 hours after facing the same bitter temperatures with bare arms.
The 36-year-old first daughter also looked as though her mood may have matched the slightly chilly day, and she failed to raise so much as a small smile for the waiting photographers while making her way to a waiting SUV.
Wrapping up warm against the cold 44-degree D.C. weather, Ivanka wore a long black double-breasted coat, which she paired with some funky knee-high boots from her own fashion line that featured quirky jewel embellishments on the heel.
Dark and stormy: Ivanka Trump stepped out of her home in an all-black ensemble on Friday morning, looking rather gloomy as she made her way to a waiting SUV
Caffeine boost: The 36-year-old first daughter was seen clutching a Starbucks coffee as she left the Washington, D.C. home she shares with her husband Jared Kushner and their children
Chic: Having left her home without a coat on Thursday, Ivanka opted to wrap up warm against the 44-degree weather in a long black coat and knee-high heeled boots
Smoking: Ivanka opted to rock much darker eye make-up than usual, failing to raise a smile as she left her home and headed to Maine, where she will be pushing her father’s tax reform
Spicing things up! The former businesswoman adding a quirky edge to her ensemble in the form of her bejeweled boots, which are from her own eponymous fashion line
Ready to go: Secret Service agents were seen securing the property before Ivanka left, and another man was seen arriving at the property with pieces of luggage
Checking it out: Dogs were also brought in to check the property and its surrounding areas
The former businesswoman actually returned to the US from Japan last week, instead of joining President Donald Trump on his 12-day trip around Asia, in order to continue promoting the reform while he is away, which she did on Friday when she arrived in Biddeford, Maine, to take part in a forum on the subject alongside U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza.
Luckily, Ivanka appeared to have perked up by the time she arrived at the event, taking to the stage with a big smile on her face, wearing the same jeweled knee-high boots, but leaving her coat behind.
On the up: Ivanka looked much cheerier by the time she arrived in Maine, where she spoke at a tax reform forum
Making a point: The mother-of-three joined U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, left, and U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza on the stage at the event in Biddeford
All smiles! Ivanka looked much happier than she had earlier in the day, smiling and laughing throughout the event
Upbeat: While discussing her father’s tax reform policies, Ivanka made plenty of enthusiastic expressions, clearly feeling very passionate about her speech
What lies beneath: She removed her long black coat and showed off a grey plaid dress underneath, but kept on her knee-high jeweled boots
The first daughter’s look was also a marked departure from the ensemble she wore just 24 hours earlier, when she braved the same cold fall temperatures with bare arms, choosing to carry her coat in the crook of her arm.
Although perhaps somewhat chilly, the move did allow Ivanka to better show off her quirky tasseled top on her way to work.
She paired the dark green shirt with matching cropped pants and black high-heeled mules, in which she walked barefoot, apparently not minding the incredibly chilly temperatures.
Never one to miss the chance to support her own eponymous fashion line, Ivanka carried her usual oversized black purse from the collection, in addition to her black coat, which she kept on the crook of her arm for much of the brief outing.
Not cold? Ivanka decided against wearing her coat despite the frigid temperatures on Thursday morning, to better show off her quirky tasseled top on her way to work
Doing her own thing: Despite the 47-degree weather, she opted to leave her arms bare
