President Trump held another cabinet meeting today where he discussed the exciting news of North Korea releasing American detainees.
The release of Kim Hak-song, Tony Kim and Kim Dong-chu is seen as a gesture of goodwill from the North Koreans ahead of President Trump and Kim Jong-un in the near future.
Two of the detainees have been imprisoned for just over a year, while the third has been there since 2015.
“I am pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the air and on his way back from North Korea with the 3 wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking so forward to meeting. They seem to be in good health. Also, good meeting with Kim Jong Un. Date & Place set.”
Trump plans to greet the detainees when they arrive at Andrews Air Force Base on Thursday afternoon.
This is an unprecedented victory for President Trump and will go down in history. One reporter, who was obviously thinking the same thing, asked Trump if he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump’s answer left the room chuckling with laughter.
“Everyone thinks so but I would never say.”
Then, he made a statement that left the room in awe.
“You know what I want to do? I want to get it finished. The prize I want is victory for the world, not for even just here. I want victory for the world, because that is what we are talking about. So that is the only prize I want.”
President Trump is obviously more concerned with making the world a better place than any prize that could be awarded.
