On Sunday night, 45-year-old rapper Eminem went after the NRA during his iHeartRadio performance. The rapper was introduced by Alex Moscou, who is a Parkland shooting survivor.
He stated that he was “tired of hearing politicians sending their thoughts and prayers to us, and doing nothing to make the necessary changes to prevent this tragedy from happening again.”
Time Magazine reports that Eminem snuck in a verse to his song “Nowhere Fast” where he claims gun owners love “their guns more than our children”:
“This whole country is going nuts, and the NRA is our way. They’re responsible for this whole production. They hold the strings, they control the puppet and they threaten to take donor bucks. So they know the government won’t do nothing and no one’s budging. Gun owners clutching their loaded weapons. They love their guns more than our children.”
However, what Eminem seems to be forgetting is that he was sentenced to two years of probation after pulling out his concealed weapon on someone at a nightclub. “I’m looking forward to putting this behind me and getting back to spending time with my little girl and making music. That’s what I do,” he said.
As if this wasn’t hypocritical enough, Eminem also has a song titled “Get My Gun.” Here are some of the lyrics:
Keep a heater that pop clips with seventeen or better. I’ll be severing heads, I’m in everyone’s nightmare. A n***a that can never ever be scared of the feds. Send the n****s that’ll f**k with you. Stab and brass knuckle you then have you in the public, there’s nothing that you can do. Enough with you’re motherf**king tough talk, you’re soft. Get you’re balls blew off, from a sawed-off. I’m raw dog, crazier then all y’all, got you like the navy when I’m angry.
You’ll never catch me hanging in a Narc’s car. All I have is thought of, breathing evil. Desert Eagles will eat through people. When I see you I’mma heat your beef slow.
F**k being peaceful, the piece in the vehicle and
(I’m gonna get my gun!)
Eminem has been a frequent critic of Trump and his administration and recently released a song titled “The Storm”in which he stated, “a f**king turd would have been better as a president.”
